Rekordbox DJ – is This the ultimate DJ solution ?

Pioneer have announced the launch of Rekordbox DJ, for those not familiar with the Rekordbox concept , up until now you could only use it with Rekordbox compatible products like CDJ 2000 Nexus and XDJ products from the Pioneer product range . The Rekord Box software was basically a database management system allowing DJs to prepare set lists, save cue points and edit beat grids among many other features. Then the DJ would usually export the prepared set list to a USB memory device to use with CDJ’s or XDJ’s.

The Problem !

Many of today’s DJs like to use many different features provided by other DJ software solutions like Serato or Traktor and use their unique attributes, this means for the DJ having several different   DJ software solutions at their disposal and want to use them using the same music collection . But this means preparing cue points, beatgrids and playlists in several different software’s, a real pain as you cannot for example prepare you tracks in Rekordbox and them import in to Traktor . A one stop solution software for the DJ would be for more simple and we believe Pioneer Rekordbox DJ  have the ultimate solution unifying both Rekordbox database management and DJ performance software in one package.

The Solution !

Pioneer have been designing DJ equipment for over 20 years and they have seen some big changes in the music industry in the way the DJ performs and acquires his or hers music, the digital revolution changed everything. As explained above Rekordbox has given the DJ one of many digital solutions. This will allow a DJ to prepare and practice a set using a midi controller like the DDJ-SX2 maybe in a home environment. But then the DJ is playing in the club this weekend and the club has Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus and the club expects the DJ to use the provided equipment , usually this would mean the DJ would then have to prepare again using the Rekordbox system . But If the DJ is using Rekordbox DJ in the home environment , the DJ will just be able to export all the prepared content to a USB stick , saving the time and effort.  One software solution for both jobs .
